180GL Oscar tank

This set a setup in IvySuites living room, located in Bhopal.
Or a better description is that is is my dad's tank. It is a 180Gl (4x3x2ft) tank.
The plants are just Giant Vals.
And a pair of oscars currently live in it.

There is one white boulder missing from the right corner of the tanks, this was because the oscars had laid eggs on them and dad is trying to artificially hatch them, I dont know anything about breeding oscars so I can't really say much on that.

This is what the Brown pair was up to, in May. They became free swimming on May 4, 2008.

Last month I rescaped, and this is the out come. I quite like the center gap it looks quite nice.
And all the fish so far so good. The brow pair is busy with their babies in the other tank thats why thry aint here.




The vallisneria is finally starting to grow back nicly, and ofcourse the anubias too. I am not too sure if I like the Aponogetons on the sides they are not growning nice, lets see what I do with them next.

DIY hood with 4xT8 28 Watts
with reflector made of Aliminum Foil!! to reflect as much light as possible.


DIY Reactor for CO2, is a the far left corner.

250 Watts Heater

Plants are the common Crypts at the right side and a Larger crypt in the center.
At the back is some Drift wood with Java Fern....

Left side is all anubias nana all on driftwood. Valls are all at the back on both sides.

The bunch wants food whenever they see me around, pigs is what I would like to call them in that aspect, but yes nothing compared to the oscars in the other room.

This is a nice newer pair I have gotten. They are now about 2 months old with me and have settled well, they do get bullied but after their addition overall the tank has been more at peace over when I had just the 4 big fish in there....

...now I want a better camera, and I post more pictures as I intend to tear this setup down in under a month.....
..*sob*...*sniff*.....all this for living in a rented house.
